Parsnip is both a sweet, nutty root vegetable and a sweet, nutty rock band. Parsnip, the Melbourne based four-piece, have just dropped Health, the first taste from their debut self-titled release via Geelong based label Antifade. The group formed in mid-2016 and have been serving up their own distinct output of sixties inspired rock to stages across Victoria.
If we’d known Health could be this fun, we’d have stopped smoking and drinking to excess years ago. Health is fashioned with guitar licks and keys so green they’ll kickstart your immune system and furthered by loose rhythms, hand claps and uniquely dulcet gang vocals. The quartet’s sound is absolutely mystifying, we cannot think of a contemporary to even attempt to draw a reference point.
Parsnip’s debut release is out November 10th.
